Prairie View Municipality's heart is in the agricultural tradition, nurtured by our innovative farmers, rich soil and stable climate. Crops such as wheat, oats, barley, soybeans, flax and canola are all successfully grown here. Cattle and hogs, as well as the PMU industry, are essential to the local economy.

With the increase in oil production and potash mining in the area, new employment opportunities continue to emerge. Communities in Prairie View have the advantage of being a relatively short drive to PCS Potash Mine, which allows people the flexibility of affordable housing while still being within driving distance to competitive career opportunities.

The Birdtail and Assiniboine Valley offers countless trails, parks, and historic sites for visitors and locals to explore. Valley Recreation and Birtle Miniota CDC work together to organize our local fairs, parades, welcome nights and seasonal festivals. Elementary schools are located in both Birtle and Miniota, with a high school in Birtle. Our accessible childcare and education system is designed to accommodate families throughout the municipality.
